Beneath the ridge of the high Karavanke Range, a grassy hilltop home to the Church of St Peter is visible from afar. Half an hour's hike away from the village of Begunje, you will reach a wonderful viewing spot and one of the most fascinating ecclesiastic monuments in the entire Gorenjska region.

It is on account of its remarkable position atop a hill at 839 m.a.s.l. that the succursal Church of St Peter was also referred to as 'the church on the mountain'. From here, beautiful views open up in all directions, not least the stunning vistas of Radol'ca and its surrounds.
