Only six kilometers from Metlika, the Bajuk excursion farm stands on a hill overlooking Bela Krajina and neighbouring Croatia. If you have a penchant for fine wines, this is the place for you since their wine cellar five meters below ground is exactly the right temperature to store a variety of excellent wines. The best time to visit Bajuk is during the grape harvest when guests can help with the work and enjoy wine tasting in the wine cellar.

The quality of the food served at the farm is as good as the wine and includes roast lamb or suckling pig on the spit, fresh home-grown vegetables, and delicious pies and potica for dessert.

An annual springtime wine festival is held in Metlika between the 18th and 20th of May, and in Črnomelj enjoy the ancient Jurjevanje festival in June. The best way to be sure to experience all the wonderful festivities in the region is to visit the Bajuk farm often.
