Logatec War Museum is based on the collections of military objects gathered by Janez J. Švajncer since 1955. Only the most important part of the collection is displayed in the mentioned facilities.
Showcases contain objects that are more or less connected with the war and military history of Slovenes and the Slovene territory. The presentation dates back to stone axes, the Copper and Bronze Ages and the Roman period, the Middle Ages, World War I and World War II and the Slovenian War of Independence in 1991 as well as presenting the devilment of the new Slovene armed forces.
The collection of more than 2800 decorations from all over the world has a special value in the museum. The War Museum publishes Vojnozgodovinski zbornik twice a year.
