The Aquarium-terrarium “Akvarij-terarij” in the City park is very popular with the inhabitants of Maribor and tourists alike, and it is interesting for children as well as adults. It is one of the best known in southern and central Europe and is placed in all registers of important European and world aquariums and zoos.

Aquarium                      

Along with a stroll in the City park you should also treat yourself to an underwater world experience. 39 large aquariums imitate river, lake and sea envirnoments from all corners of the world. In the aquariums live 120 species of fish: piranha, exotic tropical fish and those that come from the Adriatic sea.

Terrarium

The terrarium does not have such a long tradition as the aquarium, which was established in 1953; It is a new department, which id the pride of the Akvarij-terarija Maribor. Here you can see more than one hundred spiecies of reptiles, amphibians, insects and the most poisonous snakes in the world. You can also see iguanas and lizards or you can amire the courageous terrapins, which lie carefree under crocodiles. There really are some unusual animals in this world of ours, so get acquainted!
