First building erected on this site in 1484 was rebuilt in 1718 by the master builder Gregor Maček Snr. Subsequently, the building was reconstructed several times, the most thoroughly in 1963 by architect Svetozar Križaj. Today it is the seat of the Municipality of Ljubljana.
The Town Hall tour explores a number of rooms which have so far not been open for public viewing and offers an insight into the rich history of the building, which stands as one of Ljubljana's more striking Baroque monuments. The tour is conducted by guides wearing traditional costumes typical of Ljubljana. The beginning of the tour is announced with a fanfare of trumpets.
The tour is available in Slovenian and English.
