Legend says that the bewitched countess Veronika, half girl and half snake, guards a hidden treasure in the vicinity of Mali grad Castle. 
Built in phases from the 11th to the 15th century on a promontory in the center of the old city core, the two-storey Romanesque chapel with its crypt is in truth a genuine treasure. The 15th-century vaults, the Baroque frescoes, the Romanesque portal at the entrance to the chapel, and the archeological site with finds from prehistory to the Middle Ages will convince you of this.
