The history of Ajdovščina, the largest town in the Vipava valley, extends back to the 3rd century when the Romans built the settlement of Ad Fluvium Frigido here. It is mostly the eastern view of the town with its restored section of wall, tower, and Renaissance castle arcades that today reminds visitors of the town’s rich and interesting past.
