The area around Ormož is known for excellent wines and late harvests. The first branch of the Wine Road runs from Ormož through Dobrava, Kogel, Strezetina, Stanovščak, Runeč, Žvab, Pršetinci, Koračniški vrh, Senik, and Sodinski vrh to Velika Nedelja. The second branch of the Wine Road winds from Podgorci to Cvetkovski vrh and across the Bresnica Valley to Zamušanski vrh. In addition to the smaller vineyards, you can also visit the modern wine cellar in Ormož where outstanding white and sparkling wines are produced. The wine is aged in oak barrels twenty-five meters underground for up to six months. Among other interesting stops, you can visit Ormož Castle with its famous park and the castle in Velika Nedelja and its rich ethnological collection and see the picturesque region of Slovenske gorice from numerous viewpoints. You are invited to numerous ethnological, culinary, and social events as well.
